Rolling out the new JIRA experience to your Cloud add-on customers

It looks like “Turn off for now” is no longer an option in my JIRA user profile menu. Is that intentional, or should it still be there?

@epalm not removed for me yet.

@kewilliams we’ve been successfully using New JIRA UI (which we love btw) but now I’ve noticed that I’ve been switched back to the “old” UI and I can’t get back to the New UI (no “Switch” available).

It’s a bit… in my way, I got used to many things in the new UI and switching me back and forth isn’t good.

Can you help? Would it be possible that one of the add-ons switched me to the old UI? If so, should that even be possible?

Hi @epalm & @patryk.kabaj,

Unless you have created your instances after the 1st November, you should still have the ability to opt both in and out of the new experience.

Please private message me your instance details and we will investigate immediately.

Kerrod

Hi @kewilliams. I also noticed that our Jira cloud instance is back to the old ui and I can’t switch to the new UI.

Thank you

Carlo

Thanks, I’ll let you know via DM

However… I am not sure how to reply to private message you? I can’t see any feature like this in the UI.

Hi @carlocimnaghi,

Please direct message me with your instance details. We are currently investigating this issue.

Thanks,
Kerrod

I’ve just sent you a direct message. You should be able to navigate to it through the profile menu in the top right

I can’t send to you a private message.

Can you send me a private message, please?
thank you

Carlo

sure, I’ve sent you one now.

Thanks,
Kerrod

Hi @kewilliams,
I created my Atlassian account on Friday (10/Nov); The training I am receiving is based on the old UI, but I can’t find the “Turn off for now” option on the side-bar.
I like the new UI, but I need to switch to the old UI for now.
Can you help?
K.

Hey @kewilliams

Our Jira reverted back to the old UI today as well. Would you mind having a look? Can’t find the way to send you private message, so would be grateful if you messaged me instead.

Cheers.

Our Jira reverted as well, with no option anywhere to access the new UI. I finally was used to the new one, and I’d like to have it back.

Hi all,

If you had been reverted back to the old UI, I apologize for the inconvenience. Our team has identified and fixed the root cause of this revert and you should all be able to move between the UIs once again.

If you are still unable to change UIs, please feel free to reach out to me personally through direct message or email (kerrod.williams@atlassian.com)

Cheers,
Kerrod

Awesome, thanks @kewilliams you’ve been great help.

@kewilliams,
It doesn’t seem to have fixed the issue I am having; i.e. I want to (temporarily) switch to the old UI, but I can’t!
Cheers

No problem, @patryk.kabaj. Happy to help

@kasrasandbox1, please reach out to our support team at support.atlassian.com. They can kick off the process necessary in order to reenable the opt-out button.

Hi! Is there an estimated time/date by which you will completely phase out the old UI for Jira Software (cloud)? Are there any changes expected to the new UI for Jira Software (cloud) from the current new UI?

@kewilliams - No offense, but the ‘new experience’ is the most regressive, terrible thing that has happened to JIRA ever.

The tool used to be so easy to use, and is now a convoluted mishmash of odd menus, icons, and illogical paths and connections.

I’ve worked hard to get JIRA accepted at my organization, a government agency with a $10bn annual budget. We’ve started to push out from our current installation, and were planning on a massive enterprise install. I can no longer recommend this, and will be exploring Asana and others if I can’t get the normal historic interface. This is really a step back and Atlassian should be ashamed of this UI.
