Hi @aaisha.shah,
We don’t have a definitive date on the complete phase out of the old UI, however I’d expect a majority of our JSW users to be on the new experience by mid-next quarter of 2018.
There are no significant changes expected to the new UI in the short term, but Jira Cloud will always be improving over time, and the introduction of new features and optimizations may slightly change the user experience. I would keep an eye on these threads for any news.
I’m sorry to hear you had such a negative experience with our new UI. I understand if this may be too much to ask, but I’d love to sit down on a video call for 20 minutes to go over the any issues you’ve encountered and learn.
I agree with others who are complaining about the waste of space, especially when viewing a Jira task/issue.
Here is a screenshot of what I am talking about (the yellow area is the wasted space) that made Jira so uncomfortable to use and had me to rollback to the old UX.
Now that everything has already been locked in, I am forced to the new UX and do not have a way to go back to the old, yet more comfortable UX.
So from today, every time I need to fix this awkward layout, I now need to use my Google Chrome developer macro to correct the CSS…
…which transforms the layout to naturally expand horizontally, reducing the need to scroll if the task has alot of content.
This is the layout that I would consider acceptable for a work environment.
Was this serious issue ever noticed or addressed to be fixed?
